Architectural Florals
Let’s talk the sophistication of architectural florals. When deciding upon floral arrangements for any type of event, be it a wedding, corporate dinner, or intimate holiday soiree at home, consider adding height into the equation. Not only does elevation add an unexpected aesthetic element, but it serves practical purposes as well.
Soaring hotel ballroom ceilings call for high-impact florals. These beautiful, elevated architectural arrangements at a high-end Spring wedding did double-duty, drawing guests’ eyes up while also eliminating any crowding or obstruction on the tables. More room for place settings, wine glasses, and conversation!
There is something so timeless and effortlessly cool about the juxtaposition of the hard, industrial metal vessel and the leafy organic blooms. The contrast between the two materials is what really brings the wow element. Pro tip- consider dressing the bottom of the elevated vessel with loose greenery. Some of my favorite varietals to use include seeded eucalyptus, magnolia leaf, various types of fern, and Italian ruscus. More unusual options include palmetto, rosemary (not just for signature cocktails), and monstera leaf. The inclusion of greenery at table level provides a perfect counterpoint to the larger elevated arrangement- think of it like putting punctuation at the end of a sentence!
Because elevated architectural florals are so impactful, you don’t need to invest in having one at each table (save your bucks, ladies and gentlemen). For this particular wedding, we utilized elevated florals for the tables surrounding the perimeter of the room, and kept the other tables simpler with more traditional arrangements.
