Coffee Table Book Roundup
Coffee table books are an easy and relatively inexpensive way to refresh your space and add a little instant visual interest! When curating your coffee table book collection there are a few different approaches that you can take. Some people favor a thematically uniform selection, such as all surfing books or a nice assembly of tomes about the work of Ansel Adams. Others prefer to focus on palette, creating color-coordinated stacks in complimentary or even multicolored tones. Need a little mid-winter home decor pick-me-up? Why not add a trio of hardcover books in juicy fruit hues of ripe berry, creamsicle orange, and rosey pink? It’s an instant way to put some pep into your design step and make your home look and feel polished.
While design is really about personal preference, I favor a more organic coffee table book style. Instead of being rigid about theme or color palette, I tend to focus on content, cover art, and dimensions. Content is important because, well, I like to actually read the books! Cover art is what catches your eye and what will be visible while the book is displayed, and I like to make note of the dimensions of the book when I place an order online so I’m not surprised when it arrives.
